Botify Proxy Switcher — Privacy Policy

April 08, 2026

This extension collects only what is strictly necessary to manage and switch proxies:

Proxy Data — The proxy list you add (IP addresses, ports, usernames, passwords) is stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your own device. This data is never transmitted to any external server except when you actively use a proxy — in which case your traffic routes through the proxy server you selected.

IP Address Detection — The extension checks your current public IP address by sending a request to public APIs like api.ipify.org. This is done only to display your IP in the popup. No IP data is stored or transmitted to Botify servers.

Error Detection — To enable auto-switching, the extension reads HTTP status codes (429, 403, 503) and navigation errors from web requests. This happens entirely in your browser. No page content, browsing history, or personal data is collected or transmitted.

Settings & Preferences — Your auto-switch settings, trigger rules, and theme preference are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. They never leave your device.

No External API Calls — Unlike Botify's captcha solvers, this extension makes no calls to any Botify API. All proxy switching happens locally on your machine. The only external connections are:

  • To the proxy servers you configure (your chosen proxies)

  • To public IP detection APIs (ipify.orgseeip.org, etc.)

No personal data, form inputs, browsing history, or activity outside proxy management is ever collected, transmitted, or stored.
